Schmincke perylene green
Perylene green is a relatively new colour from Schmincke, first appearing in 2017. Going over my records it looks like I ordered my on the 6th of July 2017 from Parkers Sydney fine art supplies.
This is one of those ultra-powerful pigments and a little goes a long way. I usually stay away from such powerful pigments because sometimes they are difficult to control.
When perylene green is very concentrated it goes über dark green, almost black. But unlike other highly-concentrated synthetic pigments, I like this one because I like the hue itself. I tend to steer well clear of other highly-concentrated synthetic pigments (such as pthalocyanine and benzimidazolone).
I like to paint my little garpike fish perylene green. But sometimes I paint them dark blue, indanthrone blue or Payne‘s grey bluish. The mobile phone screens on the two artworks “Holy Grail” and “Modern Icon” are also painted perylene green.
