Cobalt violet PV49
One of the other colours in my palette is cobalt violet, but not Schmincke cobalt violet hue. I’m referring to Daniel Smith’s cobalt violet (PV49). It’s a single pigment colour and it’s more like pink really. Well to my eyes it is pink. Or magenta.
It’s a relatively weak colour, meaning you have to load up the brush quite a bit (a lot), thus making it even more expensive to use. But I think it’s worth it. It really is a saturated colour. It’s also strongly granulating, so it’s hard to get an even coverage. I apply it fairly evenly, it then does it’s own thing.
I usually paint the interior section of lungs cobalt violet, as well as cells (neurons). And sometimes I go over the top of ear lobes with this colour after they have been painted with naples yellow reddish.
